Destination ImagiNation Information Night: October 7th!

Do you think your kids would enjoy trying to build an 8” structure out of 1 ounce of wood and glue that holds over 200 pounds of weight? How about brainstorming, outlining, writing, practicing, and performing their very own musical? Or what about designing a board game that entertains preschoolers using only 2 sheets of paper, a rubber duck, and 4 plastic coasters, feathers, and a box of markers in just 5 minutes? If these ideas sound fun, challenging, and entertaining to you or your kids, Destination ImagiNation is definitely for you!

Here at Cascade Ridge, DI Teams are formed in early October and begin working after school and/or on weekends by the end of October, creating an original solution that they hope will knock the socks off the judges at the competition in March. Teams of five to seven members work together to apply creativity, critical thinking and their particular talents to solve one of five specified Team Challenges. The solution must be 100% created by the team members without help from anyone!

To help Cascade Ridge Families (parents, students, and friends) learn more about DI, we’ve set up a Destination ImagiNation Information Night at Cascade Ridge – Wednesday, October 7th, from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. There will be a brief introduction to DI, as well as hands-on opportunities to try out some of the instant challenges, and hear from former DI Team Members and Team Managers. In addition, you can find more information about DI at Cascade Ridge, as well as DI in general at: http://www.cascaderidgedi.org/, and http://www.idodi.org/.

If you want to sign your kids up, volunteer to help manage a team, or get answers to any DI related questions before the information night, please contact Rob Chambers at: rob@cascaderidgedi.org or 425-703-5420.

Thanks for your support, and we hope to see you on the 7th!
